We’re thrilled you’re excited to share this amazing, community-wide adventure into reading. Here are a few ways to get the word out.
  1. Share your experience on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using our hashtag #GatherAndRead
  2. Talk about the Challenge with your friends and show them your excitement.
  3. Talk about the Challenge with your child(ren)’s teacher and get their school involved.
Currently, the Reading Tree tracking system is only available for those 13 years and older. However, parents and guardians may add multiple children to their account to track younger readers’ goals and progress.
We do not share any information. All personal information will be kept private and is used only to track progress toward our 2 million books goal. See our full privacy policy.
Homeschool teachers and parents have access to all online materials. Homeschool/day school teachers can create an educator account to setup their classroom or choose to setup a parent account only to track your children’s progress. Resource and materials can be found here.
Classpacks designed for K-3 teachers are available for anyone to download. Get more information on Classpacks here.
You can move at your pace. The program was designed for flexibility. The book logging feature will be available until late spring/early summer so you and your child can decide how many books are read in that time period.
You can set up Challenger accounts for each of your children within your account whether they’re involved at school or not. Simply associate one child to the participating classroom and leave additional children’s classroom fields blank.
Each child will be a “Challenger.” You can add more than one Challenger to your account to keep track of all your children’s books.
The program is absolutely free.
Absolutely! All books read at home count toward the Challenge.
You must have legal responsibility over a child to add them to an account. If you do not have legal guardianship over a child, you can still participate by becoming a mentor. Learn more about mentorships here.
Yes! You can adjust your goal at any point during the Challenge.
Log in and enter the number of books your classroom has read since your last entry on the dashboard or on the reading log pages.
We’re so glad you asked! Individual classrooms are welcome to participate in the Challenge and leverage our free downloadable resources. If you are interested in enrolling your entire school, fill out our contact form and we will send you further information.
Yes, you can sign up at any point as the campaign will run through the opening of the park.
While the program does not directly integrate with other area programs, participants are welcome to enter any books read for another program here to help us reach our goal.
